WHAT DOES THE BIBLE SAY ABOUT “dating”?

A social or relationship phase. This word DOES NOT exist in the Bible, because of the differences between our times. However, in the Bible, we find such activity. Because in almost every culture, dating can be found. For example, Genesis 24: 17-20; The story of Ruth and Boaz (book of Ruth).

The Bible clearly and emphatically teaches principles and guidelines regarding loving relationships ranging from friendship, friendship, dating, engagement to marriage.

SOME PRACTICAL TIPS

 Dress modestly, not 'stimulating' when dating (especially women).

 Avoid media that contains sexual or pornographic elements.

 Set the time and intensity of dating.• Avoid physical contact that leads to "distant" sexual acts.

 Avoid places where sexual sin is likely to fall.

 Remember, that love must be GROWED; after "falling in love", then must "wake up in love"

 Dating is a means of God's grace to grow together in the likeness of Christ (Ephesians 4:15).

PURPOSE OF Dating

 Although it does not always end in WEDDING, the Bible does state that "dating is for MARRIED."

 NOT for 'playing'.

 Moreover, just looking for experience! (Genesis 1:26; 2:18).

 Opportunities to learn to express concern, care and loyalty (LOVE).

 The opportunity to enjoy the good times of dating as a gift from God and increase joy.

 The opportunity to get to know more about his character, personality and values, not his body!

FOR THOSE STILL JOMBLO…?

God is still selecting the best partner (someone) for you (Romans 8:28; Genesis 2:18), because He bought our lives dearly, and crucified them for us. Surely He will give whatever is best for us, we just wait for the time and someone who is the best from God.
